The International Programmes Unit
The International Programmes Unit collaborates with campus faculties, departments, centres, organisations and individuals at The University of Malta in hosting, and organising, a variety of local and internationally oriented semester programmes.

Custom-made programmes, which have been running for a number of years, are organised for various American institutions among which are Luther College, James Madison University and South Texas College of Law. During their course of studies, participants take a number of classes in, Religions of the Mediterranean, Contemporary Issues, Maltese History and Culture, Energy Technology, Healthcare, and International Law programmes. In recent years, the unit worked on an intensive field-work programme for the University of Melbourne for the Centre for Classics and Archaeology.

In addition to this, the Unit also runs Summer Schools in a number of different areas such as, Climate Change, Geographical Information Systems, Caravaggio Studies, Business Legal English, and Near Eastern Studies. All programmes are taught in English. The International Programmes Unit has been for a long time part of various networks such as, CIEE, ISEP, USAC, and NAFSA where a number of participants have benefited from our programmes. The latest venture by the University of Malta has been that of a dual agreement on two different Masters' programmes - James Madison University and San Diego State University, both of which will be managed by the International Programmes Unit. The first launch will take place in September 2008.
